Te Kāhui Manu Block

Our Te Kāhui Manu (Flock of Birds) 22 bed accommodation block is ideal for one-night stays, smaller school groups and corporate retreats looking for comfortable, self-contained accommodation.

There are eight available rooms, each room is fitted with either two or three single beds featuring durable, easy-to-clean mattresses, ensuite bathroom facilities, and a heater to ensure a warm and comfortable stay year-round.

Guests have access to a spacious communal lounge with comfortable seating, providing the perfect place to relax and socialise. A dedicated study area with a Smart TV is also available, making it ideal for presentations, meetings, or educational activities.

A fully equipped communal kitchen and dining area includes a refrigerator, stove, microwave, toaster, and cookware, allowing groups to easily prepare their own meals.

Internet access is available throughout the property, although coverage can be limited. We see this as part of the Te Kūwaha experience, an opportunity to slow down, disconnect from technology, and reconnect with nature and those around you.

General Information

Damages

All breakages and damages must be reported, and any resulting costs will be charged to the group. Repairs will be arranged by the Operations Manager through our preferred contractors. While we understand that accidents happen, we rely on guest honesty to ensure that any issues are promptly addressed.

Deposit

A 20% deposit of the total hire charge is required upon booking and is non-refundable in the event of cancellation. The remaining balance must be paid on or before the date of hire. If a cancellation occurs within 7–14 days of arrival, 75% of the total hire charge will be payable. Cancellations made less than 7 days before arrival will require full payment of the total hire charge.

What You Need to Bring

We provide pillows, pillowcases, and bath mats; however, guests must bring their own additional bedding and towels. The nearest shops are located in Te Anau, so we recommend stocking up before arrival, as there is no on-site store. If catering services are needed, we can recommend local caterers and food providers.

Arrival & Departure

Guests may check in from 2:00 pm onwards, with departure required no later than 10:00 am. Any adjustments to these times are at the discretion of the Operations Manager.

Pets

As the lodge is located within a National Park, no pets are permitted on-site. However, the Operations Manager holds a permit for his dogs, subject to guests complying with the lodge’s pet policy.

Cleaning

We supply all necessary cleaning products, including tea towels, rubbish bags, and toilet paper. Groups are responsible for leaving the facility clean and tidy. Cleaning instructions are displayed throughout the lodge, and all cleaning tasks must be completed before departure. Any additional cleaning required to restore the facility to its high standards will be charged at $100 per hour.
